Westerly Community Entry

PCS Group, in collaboration with the Southern Land design team, developed a pedestrian-oriented community entry for Westerly that features bold groves of ornamental trees and simple masonry walls paired with lush shrubs and perennial plantings. The intent of an entry like this is to highlight a more pedestrian-scaled traditional development pattern. The repetitive wall and planting elements frame the entry and provide a rhythm to the sequence as users move to and through the threshold of the community. This interplay between the formal orchard groves and the organic wildness of evergreen trees and native grasses extends the perimeter of the community, visually reinforcing the unique identity of Westerly.
