PCS Group, a community planning, urban design and landscape architectural firm that specializes in residential and commercial design, was established in 2002.
The PCS team brings more than three decades of experience to each of our projects. With this knowledge we are able to bring to each project a level of insight based on past experiences and explorations. Our intuition tells us that a certain idea will work perfectly, or it warns us to take a different direction in order to minimize risks. When this know-how is combined with enthusiasm and state-of-the-art technology, the results are extremely powerful. At PCS Group we bring this level of experience and enthusiasm to all of our clients' projects.
Our innovation in the planning and design of successful urban environments, residential, resort and golf course communities has earned us clients throughout the Western United States, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama, and Belize. Over the past several years we have been fortunate to broaden our scope of services to include site planning and entitlements for commercial, office, retail and mixed use developments. The three partners have built a team dedicated to realizing the goals of maintaining the spirit in which the Group was originally created: technical expertise combined with strong management of human, financial and technical resources.

With a background that began in golf course community planning, resort planning, and golf course design support, Mr. Cunningham brings a breadth of experience and understanding to the planning process, as it pertains to the relationship of projects to the land on which they sit. Having worked throughout the Western United States, Mexico, and Hawaii, Mr. Cunningham has the ability to integrate communities into their surroundings, even in areas of difficult terrain. This experience has also evolved into an understanding of how to maximize value in the communities he designs, whether it is through the integration of community amenities, relationship to individual lot premiums, or the incorporation of million dollar views.
While small in-fill residential and commercial projects are often on the drawing boards, Mr. Cunningham has focused more on the planning and entitlement of large scale master planned communities. This involvement ranges from the very early conceptual planning efforts through neighborhood visualization meetings and public presentations to coordination and processing with municipalities and consultants to ensure the entitlement process is managed in an efficient manner.

Mr. Shoukas arrived in Colorado after working in Washington D.C. for a commercial landscape and development company in 1997. His work led him to Nuszer Kopatz where his efforts were focused on community master planning and residential design. In 1998 he transitioned to Redstone Group, a design build company which specialized in golf course and resort design where he worked for four years. There he was engaged in projects on the western slopes for Cordillera, as well as offered landscape architectural design support for projects in Arizona, Mexico, and Utah (for golf course architects such as Jack Nicholas, Tom Weiskopf, Arthur Hills, and Grahams & Panks).
As a leader in the field of computer utilization for planning and design, Mr. Shoukas has developed techniques in realistic computerized imagery that assist his clients during the design development phases, and when presenting in the public forum. Many residential and commercial builders have utilized this imagery within the past several years and have come to expect it as part of the design process to help relate with the human scale. They set PCS Group apart from other companies and have saved our clients time and money in all aspects of the design process before being built in the field. In most recent years, Mr. Shoukas has focused more of his efforts on the landscape architectural components of residential and commercial planning at PCS Group.
